Before Your Next Dysport Treatment:

• The muscles in your face may be very strong before your first treatment or if it has been a while since you have had an injection. Your results may wear off quicker however most Dysport injections last from three to up to six months.
• If you undergo injections of Dysport more regularly or have weaker/ smaller muscles on your face, you may be able to space your treatment by four to five months.
• Set up your next treatment with us for three months in advance following your procedure for best outcomes.
• Please let our staff know if you are breastfeeding or pregnant as Dysport may not be for you. Your health is important and is your responsibility to let us know should you need to move your scheduled treatment or cancel.
• Please consider rescheduling if you require a work/ social commitment post-procedure to avoid interference with your recovery.
• Cease taking any and all supplements or medications that induce bruising, swelling, or an increase of bleeding at the place of injection. Stop taking Fish oil and NSAIDs as well.
• Refrain from consuming alcohol for up to 24 hours before your procedure to avoid blood-thinning complications.

After Your Treatment:

• Following your procedure, feeling and seeing small nodules is not uncommon. These will disappear but avoid massaging them until they do.
• Subsequently, you may notice a reaction to being cleaned with alcohol prior to injection. Moisturize or use vaseline to reduce dry skin or itchiness.
• Please avoid high and direct heat for 24 hours after treatment.
• You may experience a mild headache. This is normal. The headaches are not due to anything in Dysport itself but because of the actual injection of the needle into your skin. They will usually pass within 36 hours. Over-the-counter pain medications can treat them but do not take aspirin because it thins the blood, which can cause complications
• Moderate headaches are not uncommon after your injection but typically do not last longer than 36 hours. This is not caused by Dysport but rather can be a result of having your skin pierced with a needle. Do not take any blood thinners like aspirin to avoid complications however other over-the-counter medications can be okay.
• Small bruises may appear and can be covered with makeup should you choose to do so.
