Are you experiencing discoloration (known as hyperpigmentation) in your intimate areas? Is this discoloration impacting your confidence and ability to have a healthy sex life?

DermaMelan intimate hyperpigmentation treatment is an effective way to treat and manage discoloration in your intimate region. Here’s what you need to know this intimate treatment option.

Causes of Intimate Hyperpigmentation

Intimate hyperpigmentation is normal and something that many people experience. The skin around the external genitals and anal area darkens due to an excessive amount of melanin production.

Melanin is the pigment that impacts the coloration of your skin. There are a few things that can cause intimate hyperpigmentation, including:

  • Age
  • Genetics
  • Hormonal changes (such as those that occur during pregnancy or menopause)
  • Using hormonal contraception
  • Clothing selections
  • Exposure to UV rays
  • Injury or inflammation

The DermaMelan Intimate Hyperpigmentation Treatment

DermaMelan intimate treatment is a type of medical peel that works to remove excessive melanin from your skin.

With DermaMelan intimate hyperpigmentation treatment, you can improve your skin discoloration with a single session. Many people also experience improvements in their skin’s texture, tone, and overall appearance.

While DermaMelan is formulated to be a safe option for the sensitive intimate regions, it also works well on hyperpigmentation that occurs on other areas of the body, like the armpits, buttocks, groin, and inner thighs.

Since DermaMelan intimate is a cosmetic procedure, it isn’t covered by insurance. Many practitioners offer financing to help their payments cover the cost of the treatment.

How DermaMelan Works

The DermaMelan treatment consists of a mix of compounds that are designed to depigment your skin while soothing inflammation that contributes to hyperpigmentation. These depigmentation ingredients work as a type of chemical peel.

Depigmenting the skin reduces the amount of melanin so that your skin tone appears uniform. The depigmentation process produces immediate results.

Since skin may produce additional melanin when irritated, soothing the irritation reduces the production of excessive melanin. This helps your skin produce an appropriate amount of melanin that won’t cause hyperpigmentation.

The anti-inflammatory ingredients in DermaMelan intimate will continue to improve your intimate skin discoloration and prevent future discoloration from occurring.

What to Expect During Your Treatment

Phase One

The in-office DermaMelan treatment is performed by a board-certified practitioner. Phase One’s goal is to intensively depigment your skin.

The practitioner will first wash the treatment area with lukewarm water and gauze.

Then, they’ll apply mesolips protector around the internal genital area to protect these areas from the solution and prevent the DermaMelan solution from migrating.

Next, the practitioner applies the DermaMelan intimate peeling solution to the areas that you want to treat. This solution will remain in place for 7 minutes.

The practitioner then sprays a post-peel neutralizing solution and ensures that no residue needs to be removed. They then apply a layer of the DermaMelan intimate mask over the treatment area. If needed, they’ll also apply more mesolips protector.

The last in-office step is the application of the DermaMelan intimate occlusive film. This film activates the active ingredients and helps keep all the DermaMelan components in place.

You can go home after the film is applied, but you’ll need to leave it in place for two hours. Your practitioner will give you a pair of disposable panties to wear.

Phase 2

The goal of Phase Two is to regulate the body’s production of melanin. After everything applied in-office has been in place for two hours, you’ll remove the mask by washing the treatment area with lukewarm water and a gentle cleansing gel.

Make sure that all the DermaMelan product is removed. Next, you’ll apply the post-procedure crystal fiber mask over your treatment area.

For the easiest application, you’ll want to lay face up on a towel. Leave this mask in place for 10-15 minutes before washing off.

For 48 hours after your treatment, you’ll apply the DermaMelan intimate home depigmenting gel cream over the treatment area. You’ll want to wear a panty liner to protect your intimate areas during this phase.

Depending on the extent of your hyperpigmentation, your specific instructions may vary. Always follow your practitioner’s instructions for the best results.
