Your Consultation

You will first need a private consultation with one of our licensed clinicians to assess your skin’s unique features (tone, texture, structure). What is the procedure?

There are two parts to the Cosmelan Depigmentation Peel. In our Aesthetic Center, there will first be a stimulating mask used for around an hour. Next, the patient will continue the process at their home as instructed with their specific chemical peel.

Stage 1: At True Jewel Cosmetic Center

• Clinicians will clean and prepare your skin for treatment before applying a deep layer of the Cosmelan Mask.
• There may be slight but very temporary discomfort in the form of a sting
• Depending on the goals of the patient, the mask will remain on the skin for six to twelve hours.
• You will remove the mask at your home when the appropriate time has been reached as dictated by your clinician.
• True Jewel Cosmetic Center will give you everything you need with our special aftercare kit.

Stage 2: At Home

Using a pH-balanced cleanser at the right time, you will gently remove your mask.
Disperse the Mesoestetic Hydra-Vital Factor K onto the afflicted area which provides both comfort and moisture.
Peeling will become visual in two to three days
For the next two weeks, use the Cosmelan II cream two to three times daily.
After 14 days, use Cosmelan II only once a day

Results of Cosmelan

Complexion will reflect adjustment and brightening as well as blemish reduction during the first week. After two weeks you may notice your skin looking both healthy and glowing. Procedure for Cosmelan

The procedure starts with a clinician cleaning the area being treated. A mask is then adjusted to the area of skin which can be removed by the patient at their homes anywhere from six to twelve hours later (based on your clinician’s recommendation and level of discoloration). The first treatment is done in our office and is finished within half an hour. Aftercare cream is applied as directed every day for the first few weeks.

Recovery

In two to three days after the first treatment, your skin will start peeling. After peeling has diminished you may return to work. It is not uncommon to feel itchy or tight and notice redness in the treated area.

Who Should NOT Receive This Treatment?

Do not get this treatment if you have had active rosacea, used Accutane in the previous six months, or are nursing or pregnant.
